Who are the club directors, and what is the background of High 5 Volleyball?
High 5 Volleyball, LLC was founded by Directors Jerrick Cabrales and Meagan Cooke. After years of coaching at the elite club and collegiate levels, they partnered to build something fresh.
High 5 Volleyball was established to bridge the gap between high-level player development and affordable club sports, ensuring athletes receive top-tier training without unnecessary financial barriers.
What is High 5 Volleyball’s official club philosophy?
Our mission centers on mentoring young individuals to better themselves both on and off the court. We focus heavily on two things our athletes can completely control: effort and attitude. Our coaching staff utilizes a "Guided Discovery" methodology, which means we guide players to observe, problem-solve, and take active ownership of their technical skills rather than just renting them from a coach.
Can my daughter play multiple sports or participate in school activities while playing for High 5?
We highly support well-rounded athletes and understand the value of school sports and academic clubs. However, our National travel teams require a premium level of commitment. While we do our best to accommodate school schedules, team practices and tournament dates take high priority. We ask that parents communicate any potential scheduling conflicts with the club directors well in advance of the November season kickoff.
What is your communication protocol if my athlete or I have a concern?
We promote a culture of direct communication and athletic ownership. If a player has a question about their playtime or role, they must first approach the coach to discuss it. If a parent wishes to speak with a coach, they must wait at least 24 hours after the tournament concludes before requesting a meeting. High 5 Volleyball coaches will not discuss playing time or technical critiques during a tournament weekend.
How does the club handle college recruiting?
We actively support our athletes who want to play at the next level. By placing our teams in high-visibility National Qualifiers, we get our players in front of collegiate scouts. Additionally, because a Hudl membership is included in your dues, players will have immediate access to high-quality match film to cut highlight reels and share directly with college coaches.
Is playing time guaranteed on travel teams?
Tuition guarantees elite training, equal practice repetitions, and the resources to develop. However, tournament playing time is not equal and is not guaranteed. Playing time is earned through performance, effort, execution, practice attendance, and attitude. Our coaches utilize a player-centric approach that fosters athletic ownership, but competitive game scenarios dictate court rotations.
How much travel is involved for the National teams?
Our travel teams compete in 8–10 tournaments per season. This schedule includes local/regional events as well as multi-day, out-of-state "Stay-and-Play" National Qualifiers in major destinations such as Dallas, Orlando, or Kansas City.
What is the time commitment required for travel teams?
Our National travel season runs from November through May/July. Teams practice 2 days per week for a total of 4 hours per week (for example, Wednesdays 6:00–8:00 PM and Sundays 2:00–6:00 PM). Attendance at all practices, scrimmages, and tournament dates is mandatory.
What is the difference between your National 1st and National 2nd teams?
Both teams are premium travel rosters that receive the exact same benefits, including 4 hours of weekly indoor court training, a heavy schedule of 8–10 tournaments (including out-of-state national qualifiers), a full Hudl video analysis membership, and top-tier coaching. The primary difference lies in the specific division of competition they enter at tournaments. Both share the same tuition because they share the same high standards, elite resources, and tournament exposure.
