Tryouts & Clinics
"Tryouts" is the formal process through which athletes are evaluated and selected for our various competitive teams. Depending on the number of participants, we utilize 3 to 4 dedicated evaluators per position to ensure a thorough and fair assessment.
The evaluation process includes structured skill tracking and observation across both technical practice contexts and high-tempo, game-like situations. In addition to physical skills, our evaluation staff places a heavy emphasis on an athlete's competitiveness, motivation, and coachability.
Team coaches and club directors collaborate to determine the best overall chemistry on the roster. Because team needs and depth charts change, the specific evaluation criteria and positional needs may vary from season to season.

Private Evaluations
For athletes unable to attend open tryouts or seeking an alternative environment, High 5 Volleyball offers Private Evaluations. This is an individualized, one-on-one session with a coach to evaluate technical mechanics, situational decision-making, and positional proficiency.
Just like our open tryouts, private evaluations focus on skill level, competitiveness, motivation, and the athlete's responsiveness to feedback.
- Roster Offers: Athletes who complete a private evaluation will receive notification of team selection and roster offers once the standard tryout window for their age group has concluded.
